Dog Policy

Friendly Dog Rules

If you're like most pet-owners, dogs are a part of our family, and leaving them behind when vacationing can be a traumatic experience on both them and owners and so yes...  Your furry buddies are welcome here.  Regretfully, we can no longer allow cats. It's unfortunate, but irreversible damages to furniture, curtains and carpets by a few has forced us to implement this change.  

When booking directly online, please let us know on the 'Special Requests' section of the form if you are bringing your dog.  We charge $25 per night per pet which will be payable upon arrival. Extraordinary damages such as broken screens, torn bedding, damages in general, will result in additional charges being deducted from your security deposit.  Please help us to remain dog friendly so our furry buddies may continue to enjoy vacationing here and not lose the privilege. 

For the enjoyment, comfort, and safety of all of our resort guests, pets must be trained, socialized and kept on a leash. If you are away from the resort and unable to take your pet with you, we ask that you leave them in a pet carrier until your return.

 

There are some stipulations that we ask all owners to be responsible for and it's your responsibility to do your best to help ensure a stress-free environment for all our guests so that we may continue to be a dog-friendly.

  • Schedule in advance when reservations are made. When booking online, let us know under the "Special Requests" portion of the reservation process that you will be bringing your pet.  

  • Pets are not allowed on the furniture at any time but we realize this is difficult to enforce sometimes. If this is the case, PLEASE pack clean dog blankets to protect the bed coverings and sofas. Unfortunately this rule has been ignored in the past and at additional labour and cost to us. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in a fee being deducted from your security deposit.  

  • Pet owners will be responsible for any damage caused by their pets.

  • To be leashed at all times while on the resort grounds.

  • A credit card number must be on file for possible damages.

  • Poop must be scooped immediately when walking your pet.  For everyone's consideration, please don't forget to pack bags for cleanup. We will provide bags at the front desk if required. Please be considerate of other guests and the children playing on the property and pick up after your dog.  

  • No more than 2 dogs are allowed. They must be housebroken.

  • Pets left unattended in the cottage for any length of time must be crated.  

  • Pets are never to be left outside the cabin or on the deck when you are away.

Anyone caught violating the rules and regulations above may be asked to remove their pets from the premises and there will be no refunds.

  • If you have a dog who barks a lot, we suggest you find an alternate vacation spot that allows for this.  Due to proximity, excessive barking would be an annoyance to other paying guests. If barking becomes a problem, there will be one warning only to stop. If it continues, you will be asked to remove your pet from the premises and there will be no refunds.  We apologize if this policy sounds severe, but we have a responsibility to all our guests. We sincerely wish to remain a dog-friendly cottage resort and by adhering to these policies, we can continue to do so.

NOTE:  Pets are the responsibility of the owner(s) and the Loralea Country Inn Resort accepts no responsibility for any pets, attended or unattended, on the premises of the resort.
